Get set for IDUS 2020!

Dear friends and colleagues,

The International Day of University Sport is just 100 days away and we have started our preparations. Despite the global COVID-19 situation we are cautiously hopeful that by September we should all be in a position to be able to hold some activities and celebrate the occasion. As each year, we urge you to plan your activities around the date, at your convenience and not necessarily only on the 20th of September. If you want to mark the occasion with a university sport week, even better!

You will be delighted to know that IDUS 2019 saw the active involvement of 102 FISU members from 5 Continental University Sports Federations (CUSFs) and we’re looking forward to strengthening that number further this year. Your plans do not have to be elaborate or grand; it is meant to be a celebration of university sport, your way, as you choose. And we are here to help!

The new version of the IDUS Guidelines are now available on the FISU website here and they include everything from the FISU President’s message to new logo guidelines, from how to celebrate to best examples and best practices. You will also see the new IDUS logo here in this email and we request you to kindly use only this and no previous versions.

You will find all you need in the IDUS Starter Kit which you can download from this link – all the useful files to help you put up your own events. This includes some promotional material like a ‘100 days to IDUS’ graphic that you can use TODAY itself on your social media channels.

Remember, the social media hashtag is #LetsIDUS as always, and together with all our member NUSFs, CUSFs and university communities we can collectively use this hashtag to create a grand trend on social media closer to the date, and promote the day in the best way possible. You know you can always find IDUS related information on the FISU webpage.

We look forward to hearing from you about your plans and ideas! Watch this space for more updates… until next time!

Best regards,
Your FISU team
