The Save Winter Film Festival

The Save Winter Film Festival

The Lake Placid 2023 FISU World University Games Winter Organizing Committee would like to invite ALL university athletes to participate in an extremely exciting opportunity-The Save Winter Film Festival!

Save Winter, an integral part of the Lake Placid 2023 Games, is a movement to unite all of us who love winter to work as one to save the season of snow. This inaugural Save Winter Film Festival explores the intersection of climate change and winter sports calling for submissions by all levels of winter athletes and lovers of winter from across the globe.

Save Winter is calling for video submissions of 2 minutes or less that respond to the following questions: how does climate change affect winter sports in your part of the world and how do you feel about winter? How does it affect training and competition, or how does it affect just doing your sport for fun? Combined film shorts will tell the story of climate change through the lens of winter sports. Telling your story in a compact timeline can be powerful. When combined with other short videos into one long film, it will be amazing!

This application will be open to all university athletes regardless of whether they will be competing in the Games. We are excited about this opportunity, and we will be eagerly awaiting your submissions!
